We are called Men of the Ridge after the ridge beam that traditionally connects the rafters on a roof. The ridge beam's purpose is to connect the rafters that bear the weight of the roof and all the external elements that the roof protects the home from. Without a ridge beam, the rafters can't work together to share the the burden of the load and the walls will literally collapse. Men are no different. We weren't designed to live in isolation, and just like a rafter, we need something to tie us together so we can do what we were designed to do: protect and provide shelter for our homes and family inside.
Men of the Ridge was started because none of us are meant to walk our calling on our own. Men in our society often have questions left unanswered, confusion about who we were meant to be, and we all have silent burdens we carry quietly that often those closest to us have no idea about.
Our culture has taught us to tough it out on our own and has even tried to redefine what masculinity should look like. But we've learned that isolation makes all of it heavier, and that the signals from the world are so pervasive and yet so toxic to Biblical manhood.
This is not a top-down “get your life together” meeting, and there are no experts or saints at the table. It’s level ground, where men stand shoulder-to-shoulder, helping each other discover our calling, find accountability, and lead our families like true men. Discipleship, for us, means learning to follow Jesus in real life—honestly, steadily, and in community.
